HoneyBee Launches Video Interviews

Features
A profile tells you what someone looks like. A phone screen tells you how they sound. Neither one tells you how a person shows up — the pause before they answer a hard question, the laugh that sneaks out when they talk about what they actually want, the confidence (or lack of it) that no headshot can capture.
Video Interviews bring that dimension into HoneyBee.
How It Works
Matchmakers send a video interview request directly from a client or member's profile. The request includes up to five question prompts, and the recipient records a three-minute video in the client portal using the same invite code they already use for profile updates. No new logins, no separate app, no additional friction.
Before submitting, clients can re-record as many times as they need. That matters more than it sounds — people loosen up on take three in ways they never do on take one, and the version they choose to send tells you something too.
Once submitted, the completed video appears under the profile's Media tab alongside any pending requests, so everything lives where you'd expect to find it.
The Questions Are Yours (Or Ours)
Each firm can configure default question sets under the My Firm menu in a new Video Interviews tab. You can write your own questions or lean on HoneyBee's AI to generate smart icebreakers, suggested prompts, and a wrap-up question. Those defaults carry forward into every request, though you can always override them on a per-interview basis.
The minimum is three questions per interview. We landed there after testing — fewer felt shallow, more pushed past the three-minute window and started producing diminishing returns around the four-minute mark.
More Than Playback
Watching the video is the obvious part. But matchmakers who've been doing this long enough know that reviewing notes from a dozen video calls back-to-back gets exhausting, and the details blur together by interview number eight.
Each completed interview also includes a sentiment analysis of the candidate's responses and a detailed summary with notes. You can edit that summary, save it as an interview note on the profile, and it feeds directly into HoneyBee's existing profile summary feature. The video becomes a structured insight without requiring you to watch it twice.
Video interviews allow you to see the person's mannerisms, how they show up when not fully put together, and even help verify the person behind the profile.
Who Gets It
Video Interviews are available now for Agency Tier customers. We plan to expand access to additional tiers soon — timing and scope on that are still being worked out, and we'll share more when we have it.
What This Changes
Matchmakers have always relied on intuition built from real interaction. The limitation was that those interactions didn't scale — you can't take a first-meeting read on forty new clients in a week, and you certainly can't share that gut sense with a colleague reviewing the same roster.
Video Interviews won't replace the in-person chemistry read. Three minutes of prompted video is a narrower signal than a coffee meeting, and we're not pretending otherwise. What it does is give every profile a layer of personality data that's reviewable, shareable, and searchable through notes — which means your team's collective judgment improves even when no single matchmaker has met every client face to face.
We're excited to see how you put it to work. If you're interested in using Video Interviews for your clients or members, book a demo with us today.
