Pollinator gives matchmakers a place to showcase their clients and members to other matchmakers in the HoneyBee community and creates repeatable processes for facilitating match proposals. This increases transparency in the cross-firm matching process and creates a helpful audit trail for collecting referral fees and facilitating introductions.

When a profile is stored in the matchmaker’s database on HoneyBee, matchmakers can add that person to Pollinator to increase their ability to match across additional geographies and demographics. HoneyBee takes steps to ensure that the profiles have been recently updated and allows matchmakers to attest to the intentionality of the person they are sharing.

Pollinator 🐝 mirrors the HoneyBee name, reflecting the concept that matchmakers are cross-pollinating people across disparate networks to create intentional connections based on shared values that help foster stronger communities.

What problems does Pollinator solve?

Pollinator allows matchmakers to expand their pool of potential matches beyond their single database and network. The Pollinator marketplace helps discover matches for clients with specific or unique characteristics by allowing matchmakers to highlight key characteristics in their broader search. Pollinator’s facilitated workflows ensure transparency and good communication, helping to strengthen the community of matchmakers on the HoneyBee platform. With Pollinator, matchmakers can increase their success rates for “hard to match” clients and smaller firms or sole proprietors, typically recruiters, increase their income from referrals as well.

How does Pollinator work?

When profiles are posted to Pollinator, matchmakers specify whether the person in question is a client or available member. This helps indicate the status of their relationship with the person to other matchmakers who may submit proposals. Matchmakers can set their referral fee and specify what type of matches they are willing to accept or those that may be most interesting to them. Because Pollinator shares only limited profiles with no contact information and is fully secured within HoneyBee, matchmakers can take advantage of secure and private sharing with the community. 

Match proposals are facilitated through the HoneyBee software, allowing conversations to be retained and referenced for audit purposes if required. Match proposals help facilitate introductions, fostering collaboration and including a branded experience for clients or members being introduced. Once the match proposal is accepted matchmakers determine if the match was a success, and collect or dispense their referral fees according to the original listing.

When match proposals are accepted, matchmakers can kick off screening requests, perform introductions, and even schedule dates – all through the HoneyBee platform.
