Search Beyond Pollinator with the HoneyBee Hive 🍯

What is the HoneyBee Hive 🍯?

The Hive is our term for every profile on the HoneyBee platform, whether or not that matchmaker has made them available on Pollinator. Previously, you can search listings by location and by settings various filters. Starting today, when you run a Hive Search from one of your own Pollinator listings, you're casting a wider net into databases that have never been searchable before. The catch, which is entirely intentional, is that you don't see any profile details. What you see is a count: how many profiles at a given firm match your search criteria. That's it.

Hive Searches and Hive Requests

Matchmakers have built trust relationships with their clients over months or years, and any feature that exposed client details without permission would undermine the very thing that makes matchmaking work. Hive Searches respect that boundary by design. If you find that a firm has three profiles matching what your client is looking for, you can view that agency in the HoneyBee directory and then send them a Hive Request; a formal ask for review.

The receiving matchmaker sees everything they need to make a real decision. They get the full search criteria, a summary of what your client is looking for, the specific results that came up in their database, and the Pollinator listing that initiated the request. They can click through to any result, pull up the compare view to look at profiles side by side, and if they like what they see, send a match proposal directly from that screen.

That proposal comes back to you the same way Pollinator proposals always have in the Proposals inbox. You'll receive an email when someone makes a Hive Request, and use the proposal system to respond.

The Hive opens up a layer of the matchmaking ecosystem that has always existed but never had a structured way to interact with it.
